Seed Tracker

  1. You can track your points (which we call Seeds!) in any way you’d like, but we have a sample Seed Tracker available on our website. Every time each player gathers a Seed, they can color in a spot on their corresponding tracker.

  2. We also have space below the tracker to write in your own rewards! After a certain number of Seeds have been gathered, you can commit to treating yourself using the provided spaces below!

52 Cards!

  1. The Evergreen deck is composed of 52 cards, divided into 4 ‘TimeSuits” and 4 “Scopes”.

  2. The TimeSuits are Minute, Hour, Day, and ALAYP (As Long As You Please). Completing cards of different TimeSuits will award you a different number of Seeds. The more time you invest into a challenge, the more Seeds you can earn! The deck contains 6 Minute, 4 Hour, 2 Day, and 1 ALAYP per Scope.

  3. The four Scopes are Condense, Consume, Convene, and Conserve, each focusing on a different area of sustainability. The deck contains 13 cards in each of the 4 Scopes.

Suggested Playstyles

02

  • Collaborative Play

Work together with a group of friends to see if you can hit your Seed goal within a specified time limit! Decide beforehand on what the prize for winning is (ex. a night out, a day trip to a new park, a meal together). Then “race” by completing cards and adding Seeds to your tracker! We’ve included suggested time periods and corresponding Seed amounts below, but adjust according to the size of your group.

For One Player:

Two Months – 50 Seeds

Four Months – 100 Seeds

Six Months – 150 Seeds

One Year – 200 Seeds

For Two Players:

One Month – 50 Seeds

Two Months – 100 Seeds

Three months – 150 Seeds

Six Months– 200 Seeds

Games with More Players:

More players in a collaborative game means Seeds will be earned more frequently. You can create seed goals for games with more than two players by shortening the provided timeframes. An easy way to do this is by dividing the suggested number of months for one player by the number of players.

  • Competitive Play

There are two modes of competitive play: Showdown and Seed Blitz

   1. SHOWDOWN

  • To play Evergreen: Showdown, divide into teams or choose to play individually. Decide together on a number of Seeds to be the “finish line” for the game. Choose one Evergreen card to Play and, using the TimeSuit as a guideline, a timeframe for completion. Then, each team or player will complete the card to the best of their ability. At the end of the timeframe, reconvene and discuss the actions that you took to complete the card. Players are encouraged to go above and beyond, as Seeds will only be given to the player who completed the card the best. If your group can’t come to a consensus as to the winner, take a vote. No one can vote for themselves. Then, draw another card and play again until one player has gathered enough Seeds to win the game!

   2. SEED BLITZ

  • In Evergreen: Seed Blitz, players can also be divided into teams or play independently, and a game timeframe (Make sure it’s at least a month – Evergreen is a long-term game!) should be established. The cards should be separated by TimeSuit. To begin the game, each player should take a card from a TimeSuit of their choice and take the action on it. Once that card is completed, the player who completed it is awarded the corresponding Seeds and can draw another card (of any TimeSuit!). The player with the most Seeds at the end of the established timeframe is the winner!

  • There are many strategies to gathering Seeds in this playstyle; will you blaze through the “Minute” cards, or use ALAYP cards to earn many Seeds over the course of their completion?

Solo Play

  • Materials: Evergreen Deck, Point Tracker (optional), Card Holder (optional)

  • In Solo Play, one player challenges themself to gather as many Seeds as possible by completing cards within a specified timeframe (for one player, we suggest at least a few months). The Point Tracker can be used to set goals or establish a finish line. Be sure to reward yourself as you go! Becoming more sustainable is a tough, but fulfilling process, and we all deserve little treats along the way!
